Alaska the Last Frontier

This last week I spent some time up in Haines Alaska working with three other guys helping to remodel the kitchen at the Rainbow Glacier Camp.  I have plenty of remodeling photos but I'm guessing you'd rather see some other shots of my time up there.  We had a great time with the staff at the camp and I hope their new kitchen lasts for many years!

The river of life

This last weekend I took a trip up to Glacier, WA with my wife for some rest and relaxation.  You may or may not know but I was recently laid off from my full time job and have been doing a lot of thinking and praying about what my next job will be.  One of the mornings I woke up early to take some pictures during the sunrise and found myself out by the river a little too early.  Technically the sun had already risen at 5:40am but I failed to remember that when you're in the moutains it takes a little while longer for the sun to rise over them.  Needless to say I had quite a bit of time to think and enjoy the flowing river.  Many times I've found that photography has given me opportunities to ponder life as I wait for the light to be just right or something to come into the frame.  It's during these times that I can find a little bit of peace.  As I sat by the river I was amazed at how the river just kept flowing and flowing and flowing.  It kind of felt like life; it just keeps flowing.  We are all constantly moving down the river of life.  Not knowing where the river is going to take you is something that scares a lot of people.  I'm not sure where my river is taking me but I'm excited to find out!  Are you headed down the right river?

Here are some of the photos from that weekend!  Enjoy!
